The LYC Classic Story… How It Started and the Woman Behind It
|
|
.![]() Lois Yee (Dec. 2003) |
The LYC Classic story is about an incredible woman
determined to succeed. This desire and her search for a method to improve
and revitalize the skin has been the motivating force behind the growth of
LYC Classic. She has spent the last 35 years developing and perfecting over
200 skin, hair and body care products along with designing state of the art
salon equipment used by professional Estheticians and Cosmeticians
throughout the world. |

Born into a close knit, well-to-do Japanese family that had a large ranch near Fresno, California, Lois and her family were one of over 200,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry who were incarcerated in a Concentration Camp during World War II. They were taken from their homes with only the clothes they stood in and a small bag containing precious personal items. After a year in the camp, Lois was separated from her family and released. Being a determined young woman she journeyed eastward to Iowa and Ohio to continue her college education. The experience in the Camp had a deep, lasting effect on her entire life. To this day, Lois’ motivation in both her personal life and her business life is people, not possessions. |

In 1949, a marriage between a Japanese girl and a Chinese boy was enough to make the headlines in the local newspaper, “Racial Prejudice Loses to Cupid” read the headline. Lois’ parents would not accept this marriage and did not attend the ceremony, but with unwavering optimism Lois knew she had done the right thing. |

Her love for the beauty industry continued to grow as
she gathered a team of highly trained chemists around her son, David,
who had earned his B.A. from college in the field of Bio-Chemistry.
Together, they continued to enhance the line with additional superb
products. |

Lois has always been a proponent of maintaining good health through proper food supplementation. In 1995, she discovered the amazing fruit, Noni, and was amazed to find that doctors who have researched this wonder-food, Morinda Citrifolia, found that the fruit helps to immunize a person against aging, pain and disease. She is proud to have the Noni drink as an integral part of the LYC Classic product line. |
